Despite the Zombie Feeling...

This morning I woke up in a fuzz. Partly due to Chase who keeps waking up in the middle of the night and the excruciating pain my husband has been in since he had 6 teeth extracted on Tuesday. Yes, you heard right, 6 teeth! Anyway, that's another story for another time. Oh yes and how could I forget the hail that came down in such fury at 4:00 a.m. That woke me up too.

Although it's late afternoon and my body has now hit a wall because I did not get a chance to take a nap today and I'm officially out of my favorite coffee....I still have much to be thankful for.

I'm thankful that my kids got to experience "snow." So it isn't the real thing. It's more like snow pellets or dipping dots ice-cream but it was white stuff that decorated my grass with pure beauty. My daughter thought it was beautiful. She wanted to build a snow man and go ice skating. I had to explain to her that we didn't get "that kind of snow." My son ran around in circles with such excitement and popped as many snow pellets as he could in his mouth. It was gross but it was cute too.

I'm thankful that after a quick excursion of our mini snow day Jack and I cuddled on the couch and he held my hand. It was precious. I didn't want the moment to end. I hope to continue to cultivate that kind of love in our home where there's always cuddles and they don't grow out of it.

I'm thankful that even though my husband is in tremendous pain he sets out for another photo shoot this afternoon to support our family. I'm even more thankful that I'm not ignored; that my loving duties don't go unnoticed.

So despite the zombie feeling I have today and the lack of sleep I've had; I'm extremely grateful. What are you grateful for today?

  1. That is such a sweet post. There is always something to be thankful for.
