Dazzling Up the Patio

Back in December my husband and I purchased some patio furniture from IKEA. It has taken me a while to perk up the patio with this winter weather, but a few days of sun finally gave me the motivation to get it done. A big thanks to my hubby who put all the chairs and table together; that is a job I did not want!.

For some time I’ve been perusing Pinterest for inspiration. It almost felt like decorating an entire living room set. We purchased one table, 6 chairs, and one bench. I didn’t want to spend a whole lot of money so I tried using items we already had then I hit up my favorite thrift store, Thrift Town for a few pieces.

You know that feeling when you wish you could start your decor all over but you can’t because you’ve had the "certain sofa" forever and your taste back then wasn’t as fun? Well that’s me. My taste has changed so much so this bit of decorating felt like a real treat to start fresh.

I wanted to add pops of color to the patio so I added a few throw pillows (yellow, green, blue, and hot pink) here and there which were all pillows I already had laying around my house. In the corner next to the bench on the tray table I added a few magazines in a basket that I found in my home and unused. The little yellow and red potted plants I picked up from HEB for $1.99 each (they are not all pictured but I bought 3 of them). The straw looking place mat was also purchased at the thrift store for $1.99. Wasn’t sure at the time what I’d do with it but I liked the idea of adding different textures to my pieces.

On the table I found this multi-colored fun looking runner from the thrift store for $1.99.

The green place mats only came in a pack of 4 but I bought them anyway; they only cost me $2.99 (this by the way was my most expensive purchase!) The cloth napkins in green and yellow were a perfect match to my table. I bought the green napkins, a set of 6 for $.69 and two yellow ones for $.49.

The gold napkin rings aren’t really napkins rings. Honestly I could not figure out what they were. I did find them in the section with all the shower rings but I knew they’d get the job done. I bought a package of 12 for $.99.

I bought the baby’s breath at HEB for $1.99 and the glass jar it sits in for $.99. The beautiful creme tray it all sits on was purchased a while back from IKEA. The blue bowl with lemons I had in my home along with the fruity Watermelon Lemonade candle.

I couldn’t have been happier with my purchases! For under $20 I added some pops of color to my furniture. Can't wait for Spring to hurry up and come so we can add some more color with potted plants and flowers!

So what projects have you been up to lately? I'd love to see them!
