1. My family and I don't go out to eat with the little ones too often unless it is kid friendly. When we do it typically looks like the circus came into town. Entertaining them till the food arrived became quite the task. Usually an iPad does the trick but thanks to my sister-in-law this "old school" activity became a hit. Fun size Play-Doh! I bought a pack of 15 for $4.99 at Target. Just throw a few cans in your purse and you are good to go!
2. Lego movie
Yesterday my husband and I took the two older kids to watch the Lego Movie. I was actually quite impressed with the story line. It entertained my children but I'm sure they didn't catch a lot of the movie. I don't want to spoil the movie for those of you waiting to see it but all I will say is it was sweet, thought provoking, and heart felt.
This time next week I will be on my way to Houston for Women of Faith's conference "Unwrap the Bible." I am so excited about this event! My friends and I got VIP tickets and I can't wait to blog about this experience!
4. Storytelling through Film
As some of you may know my husband's passion is telling stories through the art of film. He has taken courses through Stillmotion and on Tuesday both he and I get to be in Austin to watch a movie premier on the amazing story of a little girl who sells lemonade on the sidewalk to help free child slaves. I don't want to give away too much info because I'd like to blog about this, but if you are intrigued you can watch some of it here.
Try this comfort food recipe and you won't be disappointed!
Have fun on your retreat, & I love tomato bisque!! Next time I come to visit, I hope it's cool enough for us to make it.
